We Think We Know But Often We Don’t

Blithering imaginations are fine to a point. Once they take us into the wilderness, however, their use for good effect is expended. Our minds are so powerful, yet they’re also so flawed because of what they’re capable of in a trance.

The disciplined mind, on the other hand, is one that sees more truly and gives rein to the imagination only when the service of entertainment is available or when creativity is called for.

Often we don’t know all the whys and wherefores and still we proffer our ‘generous’ opinions... wondering why, in the process, things shift south.

How much peace do we have when we calmly take an extra second to account for our opinions, imaginations, assumptions, or any other false or flawed knowledge? We do it in peace and we extend peace to ourselves in taking that little extra ‘honesty’ time.

How much future peace do we buy for ourselves when we’re keeping ourselves to account and nobody else is doing that for us. The secret of our folly—that which we’ve since corrected—is ours alone.

And in any event it’s easy to see that we still falter, for we’re human. Trances of thought become us sometimes. It is good if we can quickly redress these in the laughter of friendship. Love covers wrongs beautifully.
