Until ‘Tomorrow’ – Stay Safe

Looking forward to the challenge and expectation of a trip away—new sights and sounds and new endeavours—has a bittersweet reality about it the moment the aircraft leaves the tarmac for a new destination. Gone is the ‘home’ reality.

Suddenly what was close and so easy to take for granted—for a time—is gone. Then, and only then, does God take us into uncharted territory—it’s cherishable and true, as much as it’s new and possibly even a bit bizarre.

But nothing can make this reality a thoroughly good one.

‘Missing you’ is one hope away from torment. It’s the uncompleted bridge and the river run dry, but with the promise of commissioning and rain. It stands off and away, but close enough to hold firmly at heart.

Thoughts of but hours ago, watching you drive off, they dim into the ether, and tomorrow cannot come quickly enough.
