Who’s To Be the Benefactor?

When we’re attacked for doing the very thing we’re supposed to do, it pays to not lose sight of what we’re doing it for.

Do that and vision is not the only thing lost; purpose is too.

Christian life brings with it the yearning to serve. Saved people serve. It can’t be any other way, for love wells up and over the brim — no works righteousness in sight.

But not all our works of love will be presented without barrier.

Any number of veiled threats await us in our service toward, at times, unsuspecting and needy recipients. Before time, then, we’re best blessed to decide our way — who it’s for and why — so we continue plunging through with these acts of love for God.

It’s the agent of the evil one who’s getting in the way; “Christian” or not.

It’s not always plain to people what the will of God for our lives is. They think they know and they usurp our regard, but it’s up to us to please them not, but understand who the real benefactor’s to be.

Best we press on.
