It’s amazing how much we’re ordinarily protected from suffering; we only note this, though, as we suffer, seeing the ‘good times’ (when we didn’t suffer) for what they were; a time we’d love, now, to revisit.
But misery is not the end of the story.
Suddenly at the depths of our despair we’re reminded by the God-voice within: “Go and lean on a kind-hearted empathiser... even though they may seem rare, keep looking. You will find what you’re looking for.”
People make our journey through tests, trials and suffering more bearable. We need to be listened to. We need ‘vent time’.
Even if it’s a care-line, there’ll always be someone ready and waiting to share some of their kindness and compassion to get us over the line. There are people around everywhere who exist to share others’ burdens.
Misery is not the end of the story. As they say, a problem shared is a problem halved.
