A fresh day holds an entire gambit of possibilities and impossibilities. It is for us to reach into it and pull out what we can, maximising the possibilities and trouble-shooting the impossible.
New days are fresh days. The past is wiped clean in ways that yesterday—though it at times haunts us, the nightmare recurring—is made history and the new day means it is just that: new.
This saying has much validity:
“Very often a change of self is needed more than a change of scene.”
~Arthur Christopher Benson.
The new day is new for a reason. Perhaps like Groundhog Day (1993) we’re blessed with more opportunities to learn and put right the misdemeanours of our yesterdays; to-day (this fresh day) sort of forgives the past and delivers the freshest possibilities of renewal, if only we’ll disregard (by dealing with) the baggage of the past.
We hardly ever think about it, but we can start over at any time.
Joy activates possibility and option. Engage wilfully in joy, for Today has arrived!
Where is this day taking us? A better question would be, “Where are we taking it?”
