“Wisdom is the quality that keeps you from getting into situations where you need it.”
~Doug Larson.
Double safety it is: wisdom. It is the quality found in those who don’t ordinarily need her that much anymore, but just as much they’ll not sell her for all the gold in the known world, for nothing of material riches compares to wisdom.
Wisdom is winsome in that it’s double-cashed.
Beyond even the tangible, it’s much more than double from an intangible viewpoint. Qualitatively it’s the brightest jewel in the eternal crown of God as its nature is known to life.
In layperson’s terms, wisdom helps us avoid the situations where we’ll need it, and even when we do get into these quavering situations it acts at our behest and faithfully serves us in tune with our momentary instinct.
Wisdom is, therefore, a chief ally in life—like peace is a grand possession—re-doubling with interest generally every investment made with it.
