One Eye Shy of Earth and Two Fixed to Heaven

“If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think in the other world that they have become so ineffective in this.”

~C.S. Lewis.

So endeth the prosperity gospel. There is no future to it, only the present. Where a person’s heart is, their world is also.

What is it that will really make us in amid of the heavenly gaze?

Is there a more ‘viable’ viewpoint... a more ‘salient’ standpoint... a more ‘trustworthy’ tenet?

What makes us so blind that we cannot see beyond the tips of our noses?

The reality that stares us best up and down is the aspect of life coming most certainly to us. No one can escape this destiny—a world giving meaning, finally, to this one.

Cast to heaven, “success” is redefined in salacious lashings. Desire for dollars becomes virtue; quest for esteem, love; cling for popularity, friendship; longing for acquisition, wellbeing. Finally, swap dreaming for peace.

Everything we ever knew is turned about face and upside down through the kaleidoscope of heaven, and never before time. Context is added to vision and rubber for the wheels striking destiny’s road.

Confusion to meaning is made sensible in the realm of the antichrist. Worlds without God complete the mirage. Sanity is frail and demise is imminent. Heaven is a place in our hearts, projecting us to magnanimity and potential—the right and only road to “Somewhere”.

Where are your eyes? Where is your heart?

Castigated to hope or brightened to venture?

These questions expand or contract the future. Dream a bigger, more relevant dream.
