A prayer for peace in the grief of trauma’s triggers

Tears, they teem, O God.
You keep a record of every drop. A bottle of capacity. All the moisture in every drip.
O God, the one who faces the trials and torment just know, You know who, where they are, what their grief is; I ask by Your Holy Spirit to break that chain right now, and to embellish peace over the countenance of their soul.
For the one who is beside themselves for regretful grief, for the one who battles their triggering event and the aftermath, but more than that; their cosmic nemesis. Shatter that stronghold, our Almighty God, even as I intercede now, and even as the words are read, whenever.
Break those chains now in the living name of Jesus. Give peace as a sign of Your comfort. For even within the tears, and especially for them, You shall speak through a spiritual language that has no words. Thank You that You are the Meaning, and that in incomprehensible utterances You hear, and You speak. Yes, it is You!
For the friend who has been betrayed, for all trauma is essentially about betrayal, Lord, protect them now with a covenant covering. I pray clarity of mind, even if that means the unimportant details ebb away, a mind at rest and the recession of those thoughts that encircle and hound them. I pray joy within the grief, and a tangible snippet of hope. Only You can do that, God.
Shine forth Your light of calmness and structure for now. Not for tomorrow. For THIS harrowing and panicked moment. Let not one second be denied them, Lord.
For the person deep in the immediacy of sorrow, a crushed dream or loss that breeds trauma or a return of what was thought past, give an intervention that brings the immediate breeze of relief. Where it’s a person, may they be removed from their presence.
Teach now by Your Spirit a gentleness with and for themselves that transcends past coping measures and brings a flood of new hope in to and through them. Cause this one to continue the fight and search, and breed hope in them that they will find what they’re looking for, for by Your Spirit they shall.
Give the person, O God, Your steady hand of assurance, the knowledge that in doing their best, that best is always good enough for You. Give them peace within themselves when guilt derails their confidence and suddenly a plummeting into the abyss is their reality.
Yes, Lord, a fresh confidence is needed, that they’re allowed to go gently, so provide that assurance to the one I pray for now, Lord, by Your personal touch.
In and by the Name of Comfort and Compassion,
AMEN.
